Yet another call from the hospital about my Grandmother during the night. So, I will probably be in and out all day again.

Good morning from warm and sunny south Florida.

Today is the day when the god of Apple speaks to its hordes of disciples and shows off its latest divine creations. Personally I'm guessing a cheap headless Mac, faster laptops still based on the G4 chip, and an office type business software suite but who knows. Macworld 2005 I bet it has a lot less naked people and is not nearly as much fun as a porn convention.

I don't know what I'm doing yet today. I see that my ICQ is flashing letting me know that my favorite content provider is open and ready to take my hard earned cash so I guess I will be buying some flesh this morning.

And another Monday graces us with its wintery presence. I may crank up the stereo and actually do some work today. I just don't know what. My web world is just like this old house of mine. Full of a shit load of projects that I've started and never completed. So much to do, so little motivation.

had a pretty hectic weekend all together. We were supposed to perform with our band on Saturday night but our concert got cancelled because the band that played before us had an act with pig blood and guts (black metal hting) the owner of the club stopped the gig once his entire club was covered with blood.
So.. another Saturday night wasted

Ah well, at least the crowd was mad at the other band and not at us

ah what a joy it is to first get up and start reading your emails to hear what sounds like either a fan or hard drive make a noise.... did it 3 times, but too much other bg noise for to pin it down which it is.

Fan was replaced Dec '03 and HD was replaced March '04 so I am in a joyful mood at the moment.

Even nicer to be able to work in sweats and not drive anywhere in this icy b.s. weather 28 deg F and looking at more freezing rain today. Ugh...those poor commuters.

Yeah, way ahead of you Cleo, I already have the important stuff backed up, with this new CMS I have all the content is already on the server and I backed up all the important files I use a few weeks ago, (habit I have since the last HD blew up) so it won't take long to back up the current things.

I rebooted and no sounds since then, but I can not believe that it's the HD, since the last one which lasted 3+ years I have been ultra careful on how I handle this when I do move it so I can not see how it only last 1 year.

Stupid technology….

The replaced the hard drive in Angel's laptop just a few weeks ago and she called me from Vegas saying that it is making funny noises again.

Nice, I am in the process of backing things up and decided to call Dell to see how much it would cost to replace the hard drive just in case I have to.

So I call them and not once but twice I get someone who can barley speak English, both times it was bad enough I could not have a conversation with them, so I go to the site and use their “live chat” option.

I go through the process and get a live tech support that lets me ask my question and he ask for a few more things and when I think I am going to get an answer the chat crashes.

After a few mins of refreshing to see if it will be back up I say fuck it… sent an email. So if I am lucky I will have an answer in a week.

You can buy a hard drive for you PC for less then what it is going to cost you to ship it someplace plus you will be back up and running the same day.

When I first bought this I bought the extended in house warranty, so when the fan went out last year they had to come to me and replace it. After watching him take it apart its a good thing, I would never have gotten to it, but the Hard Drive is simple, literally one screw on the side and it slides out, took me all of 1 min to replace the last one.

I did just receive an email from Dell that is about 5 pages long telling me what to try.... but not one line answering my question on replacement cost.

I mowed the grass while waiting for my files to backup, nothing else to do or to go, so I think it's time|rasta|
