Finns are even crazier than aussies.

Now, EU law says that you can buy as much alcohol as you want and bring it home from any EU country. You pay the tax when you buy it, you don't have to pay more taxes in your own country.

We have very high alcohol tax (well, it's going lower 3.1.04).

This started 1.1.04. Our government negotiated 10 years transition period.

Now some crazy finns went to Germany and bought some 1000 litres of hard spirits, wine and beer.

Surprise, surprise! Custom took their alcohol, accused them that they are going to sell it, and gave them a tax. Biggest tax is some 20,000 euros.

Crazy finns...
