Recips
How many recips is acceptable for an index page?
I am currently using 12, is that too many?

I've seen people using 20 or more lately, but they are all custom recips that blend in with the design so no problem here.

Ive used up to 24 custom recips before. If your not using custom recips, I would do no more than 16.
I think there are a few link list (not very many) that do not allow more than 16 or 20, But as long as you read the rules before you submit you should be fine.

it depends, if you user buttons i wouldn't go higher than 12, they get messy looking. If you are using text links they can be arranged to look a lot neater so more would be fine. with the advantage of having an odd number doesn't screw up the layout.
