Problems with Link Admin

I have this problem with the linkadmin script I'm using.

For almost a month now all sites I submit/accept get the same "ID" as sites I submitted earlier.
So where on August 12 the site ID for new sites said 4900 or so it's now saying the site ID for new sites I'm adding is in the 3-400's. When I want to get the info for that site it shows me the info for a site that was submitted months ago and was the original site that had that 3-400 ID.

Pretty hard to edit sites now since the new ones don't show their own info anymore but the info of old sites.

I emailed Richard about this but didn't get an answer so far.
MML or someone else can you help me out here please?

You need to ftp into your server and go into the data folder of link admin and download data.LinkNumber and open it in notepad. It needs to be changed to 4901 (or 1 higher than whatever the last highest link accepted was).

The link number got reset back to zero somehow so you need to change it back up to where it should be. Happens occassionally to all scripts and it does suck when it does.

Thanx Ramster. That problem seems to be solved.

So am I allowed to go into data.AcceptedLinks and change the duplicate numbers or shouldn't I be doing this and leave those 700 duplicates as they are?

You could change them if you want to sure. The only problem with leaving them is when you delete a link and if it has a duplicate number they are both deleted.

Make a backup before you do anything of course.
