Starting Link List

Ok, I want to start my own link list, I will start with my own free links etc.. but how else do most new link lists get links listed.. do they just list a bunch of links so that there is content?

I know i can add my link list to other link lists etc... and that will help generate traffic.. but at first I'm more concered about getting webmasters to list their site before I have 1000s of users hitting my site and no links..

Thanks.

If your making the foray into a link list you should have enough of your own free sites out there to fill it up a bit to start. I say this because without a good knowledge of free sites your success at a link list could be very limited! Also ask for partner submitters and a bit of promotion publicly and in resource sections should help a bit too. It is certainly not an easy traffic cure all. But a good part of a webmsters infrastructure! There area also free hosted sites but they may not be the best draw for gaining bookmarkers and I shy away from them for the same reasons of pretty much anything else that starts with the word free.

Yea I will stay away from the free web hosts... What are partner submitters? Sites with lots of link lists who will list them all with me?? And get a quality link better then the others?

The point I was making is that you should probably know these things well before opening a link site. How then can you properly review sites. Also traffic to your link list. Submitters at least want traffic and the recips alone will not a traffic pump make. I did`nt even bother making a toplist until I had 100 free sites under my belt. At least double before making any type of link list. It would`nt have done me any good without the base around it to make it all work. I`m not sure of your skills there or how long you`ve been at this so I`m speaking generally here.

Well I've been a webmaster and Unix sytem admin for years.. Architected most of the E-Commerce Solutions for over 150 Telecom companies world wide when I worked as head of security for a large financial industry... (not to give you my resume). Now I just run my own IT consulting company with a few large name companies on my list like a fast food restraunt which I've been working with to implement online ordering system for all 50 states while testing it out first in colorado.

As far as the adult industry goes, I dabled in this about 4 years ago.. and lately decided to get back into it... had some female friends of mine who wanted me to design them web sites, so I was like kool.. then they started to recruit all their friends at "work" and about 20 of them want websites now as well... So I've been doing photoshots, ligning up makup artists, photogrphers etc...

I am learning as I go.. however I am a quick learner... so in some areas I have little to no experience, and in some areas I have assloads..

Maybe I am starting this link site too soon, however I want to get it up and atleast my sites listed, catagories etc... once I get that I can determine if it's something that I need to just keep for my sites for a while or if I believe I can get webmasters to list..

I ask questions to get as much info as I can, I read as many articles as I can etc.. And sleep like 2 hours per day, lol !!

But I definaty appreciate your feedback and any other feedback I receive! If I'm not ready I can definaly handle that constructive criticism, but this info will help me layout a plan to get there... that's all...

linsys - I've read most of your posts and please don't take this the wrong way, but my advice would be to work on the paysite & promoting it instead of worrying about running a Link List.

I am with gg. Sounds like you putting to much on your plate.

Work the one angle and grow from there.

Having said that you could work toward having one later by listing the free sites you build on a page where you plan on having a ll in the future. If you do something like this you could also link to that page from the free site somewhere.
