Alliance School to open doors to those who feel bullied, harassed
What do you guys think?
http://www.jsonline.com/news/metro/mar05/307446.asp Since there is no real job for those that feel harrassed or Bullied. And, the real world will not protect those people, I think it is a terrible idea. |

If we could give kids a crystal ball so they could look 10 years into the future & see that the geeks & nerds & fat kids & oddballs are making a lot of money & the dudes & stoners & "popular" people are working at minimum wage jobs, maybe then it'd be better for them.

It's unfortunate that the laws that protect us in the workplace aren't enforced in the school so our children wouldn't have to be subjected to this kind of intolerence. Perhaps those "cool' kids who think its so funny to make fun of those who are different, their parents should be called in and let those children call their parents "rollo, goose, geek, tubby" etc.. in front of other parents then see how long the harrassement would last. |cool| |

No offence Apu, but when they were handing out religions you must have been out taking a whizz

Just what the
![]() I was a skinny nerd and almost a full year younger than my classmates since I was in 1st grade. I got picked on, I got bullied, I got made fun of daily. And ... I grew thick skin, grew up stronger and dated all the hot chicks in Highschool that the fuckers that used to taunt me never had the balls to ask for a date. Last I checked most of them are stumbling around this world (if they lived this long) looking like ![]() My message to the poor down trodden little tikes... GET OVER IT! LIFE SUCKS, SO GET USED TO IT! THIS IS THE EASY PART!!! ![]()

This new school reminds me of the Land Of Misfit Toys or whatever it was called. It's a shame that parents don't take more responsibility and teach thier own off spring to be a little more accepting of odd balls.
Maybe it's all the abuse that makes geeks go out and earn twice as much as the bullies. If we take them away from all that abuse then won't they just be losers for life? |

I want to live. I want to experience the universe, and I want to eat pie.

To keep things on topic - and in the interest of sharing too much information - most of my public school life was sheer, unadulterated hell. By high school, I was ready to drop out. I really don't know what the big problem was - I was smart, but not a genius; I was not unattractive, but not beautiful - I was just one of those kids who just kind of sucked, for whatever reason, and took hell from others for it. Fortunately, my (quiet, little, redneck town - okay, city) had a magnet school. I managed to transfer there my junior year, and let me tell you, it changed my life. I found my niche. I also ended up graduating six months early, because I was so fucking burned out at that point I really couldn't take any more. I regret not getting there sooner - I wish I could have taken advantage of the AP classes and whatnot and really done something with my life from an early age. School shouldn't be about defending yourself against the same asshole bullies who will probably end up being your congressmen 20 years down the road. There has to be some place for future activists to percolate. I'm all for alternative schools. |
