Caution Standing Too Close May Result In Singularity
They think that they have produced a Black Hole in the laboratory.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4357613.stm "A fireball created in a US particle accelerator has the characteristics of a black hole, a physicist has said" They say that it isn't dangerous. Somehow producing the most destructive force known in nature seems a bit risky but what do I know. |

I hate it when that happens. Pesky black holes. ;-}
Did you hear about the recent experiment where they used sound waves to collapse bubbles in a sulfuric acid solution, producing temperatures of 10 to 24 thousand degrees, hotter than the surface of a star? They say they may even have induced microscopic amounts of fusion with this method. Not exactly a desktop fusion generator yet, but a fascinating step towards one. |

it doesn't pose a threat until they try to make a bigger one and it slowly starts sucking the earth in, and of course they won't know hot to stop it either
