Forgot to supply login info in submission...

Hi all,

I just submitted my website www.amftp.sytes.net and I forgot to include userid and pwd for the linkorama staff in the description/comments. What should I do? Wait for the site to be rejected and then submit it again? Or maybe I can email them? (where?).

Thanks

I just reviewed and rejected your site for the link http://www.amftp.sytes.net/freesignin.htm thats 404 and also if its a free site why a members area ? And stuff opening in new windows on the video page that appear to be just links to sponsor hosted vids

I fix the 404 but....

Hi and thank you for taking the time to review my submission and for letting me know why it was rejected. I thought I had removed all of the links to old pages (like freesignin.htm) but apparently I missed one. I just fixed it and I'm about to upload the corrected webpage to the server.
The reason for the password protected section is only to minimize hotlinking. I can find a different way if this doesn't comply with the rules. I'm actually planning to use the "rewrite" rule of apache in the future, when I will have time to sit on it.
Last thing, I believe you refer to rule number 11 (The content must be on the same domain as the site), which basically means that I will have to remove the "freevideo" section, right?

Thank you

To be listed in the free section the site must be without passwords ect.

Considering sytes.net is a "NO IP" redirector, I suspect that this "site" is sitting on someone's PC in their house, illegally hosting on a DSL or cable modem.

I wouldn't list this with a 10 foot logic probe.

Nope, none of that.
When this website opened it didn't have a domain name. It has one now (www.amftp.com) but the problem is that all the search engines it was submitted to, have the first address (the NO IP one). And it's not sitting on a DSL....it's actually a T1.

Mauxus, Any third level domain thing, especially through a redirector service is a "no go" for many places. there is no assurance that your site will be up for even 10 minutes.

I do a lookup for those two domains, and I get two different IP addresses. Visiting the real site just redirects me to the one with the NO IP redirection service.

I think you need to fix this and use your REAL domain before you go any further. Don't redirect to the poorer service, redirect the poorer service to your real domain. Right now this looks just too screwed up, and you are costing yourself listings as a result.

Plus, why do promotion on an domain that you don't own? you don't own sytes.net, it could go down tomorrow and you would be out of business. Why submit it if you have a real domain?

I guess you are right. I've been thinking about switching that for months now but didn't do it because it takes a lot of work ( if you know what I mean! ). Guess it's about time now.

Thanks for the tips.
