What am I missing
It seems to me that http://www.cybernetexpo.com/ is a perfect alternative to the Florida Show yet very little mention of it by board members
June 12-15 (kids will be out of school) San Diego is the #2 or #3 tourist destination city in California Prices seem more than fair Best weather in the continental United States (it won't be to hot or to cold) Cab ride to the Gas Lamp district or Pacific Beach Night Clubs Under $15 Of course I'm biased my playground is only 20 minutes away. I just don't understand why more board members aren't coming

Pat, for myself, it is a question of timing... I have a bunch of things on the go, and 2 of them end in mid June. I can't take the time off to attend the show, the dates are just right in the middle of the issue. June is a hard time for many people, with students taking exams, having graduation parties, and whatnot. Many people are restricted during that time because of non-business issues that they need to stay home for.
The Cybernet shows for a while were much smaller shows than Internext shows, attracting crowds in the hundreds not thousands. The move to San Diego and the teaming up with Ynot has certainly changed much of that, and they has a much bigger show last year, and will again this year. It takes time to change the trends, and shows are especially hard to change people on. More importantly, it comes down to the the companies that attend, sponsor, or send larger numbers of people to shows. Many of them have 2 budgets per year, one for january, one for August. For any other show, they have typically in the past sent 1 or 2 people maximum, rather than the 8 or 10 person crews they would send to Internext. That is slowly changing as well, as can be seen by the number of people heading to Pheonix this week, and judging by the attendance at other regional shows. Cybernetexpo is good value for money, is a great networking show, and is HIGHLY recommended. (and yes, I use to work on those shows... but that doesn't change my opinion one way or the other... I got involved because I thought they were good!). Alex |

"Raw Alex" thanx for the reply, well thought out and answered my questions (I was floored when I got a just saying hi and lets stay in contact E-mail from YnotBob a week after last years show so I agree teaming up with Ynot is a good move) "GreenGuy" having 3 stepchildren myself I understand, the good news is they eventually grow up and leave home
