Trouble with lechers

I post some big ass galleries on a couple boards. With notice that they are to be posted on no other boards/tgps/sites. Most respect that but there are always assholes.

I could probably fix the problem with a .htacess file but this thought ocurs to me why not get some free traffic out of the assholes.

Sooooo I was wondering if anyone had, or has heard of a simple script that will do the following.

Alow referrers from a list I supply. 404 or redirect the rest after 50 hits. (doesn't matter which. I want to send them to the same place my 404 goes to anyway, my main page)I figure 50 since there are always some bogus hits in from legimate sites. I just want to nail the idiots that can't read or don't give a shit. I figure let the assholes list the gallery and then find out later their taffic is being diverted. About the only way I see to teach them a lesson.

(BTW I would never and I would strongly sugest no one else ever does this on galleries submitted to TGPS/Link sites. Even the best scripts have a way of fucking up and you might soon find yourself blacklisted and you name passed around.)

What do you mean by 'notice'?

You could easily redirect unfriendly referrers to whatever page you want within your .htaccess. My fear would be that the unfriendly sites would black list you (eventhough they stole the link) and that they may possibly share the same black list as a friendly site. That would really suck balls. But I've certainly heard of people doing this sort of redirection for that exact reason.

.htaccess redirect them or block them completely. I use a general rule that the tgp has to at least be English. I would love to not care about the bandwidth and just let everyone just add my url, but I honestly can't afford a place like gold.jp-sex.com (A japanese tgp) to pick my pages up. 1 day of them and I had 70,000 page views...on top of my normal 100k. Impressive to say the least, but completely worthless traffic to me and I just couldn't afford to be nice

So, basic rule, if the tgp is written in English don't htaccess block them.

Useless Warrior

By notice I mean they are boards just like this but for galleries. A lot of guys that post there put up something like "For this board only" And most respect that. As for getting blacklisted I wouldn't do this with a tgp gallery. But these aren't tgps that are stealing this. So I don't worry about getting blacklisted. Mainly I want to teach them a lesson. Pisses me off that they would be so inconsiderate. Course if I was really a prick I'd send them to popup hell but I won't stoop that low.

A little hint that might make you some coin. Include German sites. I know it sounds crazy but it converts well even if the page is all English.

Ah, I got ya now. Had me confused there.

Does the traffic from those boards seem to convert well for you? That's one of traffic sources I've never tapped.

I leave the German's alone...they do convert. Russian TGP's though...Chinese...umm, I mean if I submitted to them it would be different, but get a Chinese or Japanese forum and you're looking at a bandwidth burn like you can't imagine.

Yea it's like if you posted a 2 meg file here and stated please don't post this on any other board. And then other guys posted it on thier boards with the attitude screw you and your banwith bill it will help my board.

As for converting it's kinda hit and miss. I'm probably only breaking even over the long haul but I'm driving traffic to my joke site http://www.thedailydirty.com/thedailydirty.shtml which I'm really pushing so it's worth the time to me.

Yea I know what u mean about the far east. I hear Korean traffic can convert well but have no ideal how to market it and who to send it to.

I had what looked like leechers in my logs, but when I checked it seemed they had downloaded all the video to their bandwidth, and then put a "see full movie here" with my affiliate code in it.

That's the sort of leecher I like ;-)
