WHO IS FONZY!?! Don't they teach you anything at school?

How can you tell if a sponsor uses cookies for tracking?
Do programs using nats type links require cookies to track sales, where the link url is something like "http://www.domain.com/affiliateID/" ?
I realize ccbill link codes use cookies, I was just wondering how to tell the difference. |

Rock stars ... is there anything they don't know?
|
NATS does use cookies to track surfers. They simply encrypt their linking codes. Some like that and some don't.

I see, thanks for the reply. Are there any sponsors that don't use cookies for tracking affiliates?

If there is nobody out there, that's a lot of real estate going to waste!

Most don't use cookies! PHP linking is so much better.
Some sponsors will use cookies for tracking unique vs. raw hits though! |

Took the hint.

SOmetimes cookies will be used as a secondary thing, rather than primary. Good coding in PHP allows you to pass the affilliate code all through the site, which makes cookies a very old fashioned way to do buisness. CCBill uses it because they don't keep control of the surfers during the tour.

CCBill also uses URL tracking.

Thanks for the info. Most of the sites I promote are ccbill sites and I have a good amount of nocookie traffic; I was considering redirecting it to a page with sponsors who don't rely on the cookie tracking method.
But Cleo you say that ccbill also uses url tracking, so am I wrong to think that I wouldn't be given credit for a referred sale made to a ccbill site if the browser didn't support cookies? |

CCbill has stated in other threads that they use a combo of cookies and URL/IP tracking and fall back to whatever means they can to track the surfer.
Lots of people surf with cookies blocked. |
