I remember a few months after I started and it was crazy money for doing almost nothing. I updated my one site once/month and made about $30k/month during the summer. Not really a lot but it was to me after coming from a "sucker job".

I still lived in a run down apartment and drove an 89 Chrysler New Yorker. The only time the old neighbor ladies saw me leave was to buy things. Like I said, when I started, I was teaching at the same school as my mother. I had to tell her that I was going to quit teaching so I could dedicate my time to this work. She ended up saying "good for you". And, was very proud that I could afford things that I never could before, Our neighbor lady said she was especially proud that I could hire a maid for my mother while she was sick.

My mother was a true believer in freedom of speach. She also said she didn't care what kids read, as long as they read.

Did I mention they are taking a vote later next week to rename the entire school, Jacqueline Barnett High School? Jesus Christ, I miss her.
