How can I tell if an expired domain is blacklisted?

If I went to a website to search for and potentially purchase an expired domain, is there a way to verify that it hasn't been previously blacklisted by Google or is it simply a Buyer Beware?

You can check the shared one here,
http://bl.usefulscripts.com/blocked/

But their are lots of other ones as well so just because you are not on one doesn't mean you are not on others.

Hell my stuff uses 4 different ones, lol.

Its worth looking at www.archive.org to see if you can see what the domain was used for before.

Also check its link popularity in the other search engines.

There are some "domain history" sites around.. I just dont have a url handy.. sorry..

Thank you both for your suggestions. It would be pretty crappy to buy what you think is a sweet domain only to find it is useless.

You have given me a good starting point.

drizzt, I bought an adult domain from deleted domains a couple of years ago and it took me well over a year to get it spidered by google. I eventually wrote to google and asked for it to be considered for reinclusion as it had been banned.

So do your research first
