Why the 120 second rule??? I don't get it :)

Ok, I am finishing up another site and it's movies, i have 8 of them and they are good, but 10 sec each so thats 80 seconds, already more than enough to have the surfer shoot a load and not goto sponsor, but now i have to add more video

WHY?? I does no one any good...

1. It burns BW
2. more importantly It's too much free porn
3. will reduce productivity for LL owner (if joe blow blows load stops clicking)
4. much less likley for me and sponsor to get sales/ even LL owner less likley to get a sale, if joe blow surfer learns me and 300 other submitters subbed 300 new sites with 120 secs of video why will he click your banners and text links to paysites?? No reason too.

just curious...and i guess off to add unnessesary video the the end of these clips

I am no expert on movie sites. I did two of them in the last few weeks to see how they would do. I've only been listed at a few places so far but did get a sale already. My guess is give them a reason to join. Do a brief description of each clip right below the thumb (tell them what they will see on the clip). You might even point out that your clips are so hot they will blow their load. Imagine how hot the rest of the site is! My point? Use some sales text and don't count on the clips to make the sale for you.

Honestly, I have no idea how a lot of us adopted the 120 second rule. I know the 10 sec/movie rule was put into place because there were a lot of people submitting 5 sec movies (which are way too short)

It might be because it's very easy to split movies up into clips that total 60 sec/page - 6 @ 10 sec, 5 @ 12 sec, 4 @ 15 sec, 3 @ 20 sec, 2 @ 30 sec.

I might have to look into that rule a bit more on Monday.

I'm cool with one gallery movies of about 60 seconds and one gallery of 10 or 15 pics too. It's not in my rules but I do get sites like that sometimes and accept them.

I don't do much movies sites myself but on the ones that I have done I actually put a bit more then 120 seconds of movies a bit over then to try to be exact and also it just seemed to convey what I was trying to sell better.

Most of the first pics or vids of stuff that I do is more clothed setting up the fantasy then anything.

The 10 second rule is good I agree on that 120 seconds isn't always too much, but sometimes it seems excesive. On this site i guess I will just edit the clips and add some time, I want to stick with these clips since I know they are converting off of fhg's at killer numbers

When I am just doing movie galleries, not sites I use more video sometimes, but it's just one page and I see from stats that most surfers just hit the creampie clip(and there is only one not a second for them to get off to) and skip the filler, so I can put a gig on the page if I wanted to lol no one is going to download it shit, one hun gallery I almost did use that much finished the gallery real late and tired used 7 2 mb clips thought I had used 6 but it worked that time.

if you giveout 30 sec or more it may stop surfer from signing up via your links (especially if he/she see sponsor text on movies and/or models t-shirts [ping you deecash ]) surfer can forget about your free site and will go straight to the sponsor site

Any thoughts on 30 secs per gallery? 3x10 secs and all that. Just tossing the idea out there, would be cool to hear you big guys give an opinion on that short of a time frame. Less is more kinda thing, would be good (nice, a step in the 'no you cant have bundles of free porn, just a little bit) direction. As I say, thoughts?

i just put biiiiiggg ones anyway but whack the creampie part latest freesite i have 4 clips per gallery first 3 are like 45 sec and last 1 is 10-15 and when the creampie is comming out i pixilate it on one and did something on the other forget get the surfer interested and think he found a hole in the system lol then kill the part he was looking for anyway then i put movie text continued in the members area scrolling up the screen

1 minute per gallery is not excessive at all. It gives enough time for the surfer to get a taste. It boils down to the clips that are used and how they are presented. If a gallery is built where the movies seem to play back to back, meaning clip 2 picks up where clip 1 left off, then yes, the surfer will most likely blow his load.

People need to pay attention to the clips they are using. There are far too many galleries out there that give away far too much of the goods and/or you can watch the first minute to 2 minutes of the movie all the way through. People sometimes tend to forget that the clips are just samples of various parts of the movie, like watching a mainstream movie trailer.

12-15 secs is an ideal length for clips. People don't have long attention spans. If you make them too short, you won't grab the surfer. Make them too long and the surfer blows his load and/or loses interest.

How many surfers click gallery #2 on a freesite? How many clips are the surfers downloading and watching from each gallery?

2 galleries @ 1 minute each is not an unreasonable request. 30 secs per gallery may work, but that also means less content for the sites who list them.

Panky has a point there. Your clips don't have to run back to back. What's more, you don't have to have clips of one episode on both galleries. I've done FS where I had clips from different movies in each gallery, sometimes even clips from different movies in the same gallery. It's a matter of naming the site properly and not misleading anyone. Telling them what they're getting is samples of various movies of blondes getting facialized or something like that.
