Calm down dude. Neither Argentina nor Mexico will be afraid of Germany. And they do not need to be afraid, do they?

Germany - now you have a challenge

2 great games today but the refs suck ass

The second yellow card for Lucic (or what's his name lol) in Germany-Sweden was totally uncalled for and Argentina deserved a red card in the first half but got away with yellow..

Germany-Argentina will be a one hell of a game

I totally agree with that Argentina call. An obvious late tackle from the front. Hell, even a well timed tackle from the front where the cleats are off the ground usually gets a red. That ref did seem interested in letting the players play unlike the USA/Italian game where it seems the ref should have been suspended the second time for inconsistencies.

The Lucic was a bit early to give him the 2nd yellow but there was a great acting job around it and from the refs view it looked pretty rough. I can understand why it got him another card although I would understand not giving him the card as well.

Yes, second card for Lucic sucked big time, very nice of the ref with a big fucking smile. |shocking| NO CARD! Saw at least 10 other things that should have been cards.

But anyhow, Sweden did not deserve to win when they play like shit. 0-2 after 12 min... WTF!
Larsson said after that he missed totally (and I mean toatally), he was aiming in the other corner of the goal. Strange!

Well done Germany and take good care of Podolsky!

Now I am hoping for England, the only Swedish thing left in WC.

I thought England was going to mop up Ecuador but I'm not so sure at the 1/2. I bet Ecuador will score in the last 15 minutes of the game to make it an exciting match.

Damn! Ecuador looked like poop the 2nd half and that's when I thought they'd really come on. Beckmen's free kick was beautiful.

I had England for £10 to win at both 1-0 and 2-0 at 7-1 and 6-1 ...... 1-0 at 7/1 pleases me

Sorry, added: we didn't play brilliantly, but we done enough, although I'll go along with others, we need to improve drastically to have a chance of winning the tournament. Argentina look the safest $$$ by a long shot. Very strong, and certainly skilful enough.

I honestly don't know what to think about Holland/Portugal - the ref simply sucked.
I ref football, basketball, softball, and baseball.
Rule #1 - Don't decide the game, let the players do it.
Getting my calculator out for the England/Portugal

Portugal-Holland was a real thriller, shame about the foul play on both sides, I don't think I ever saw so many yellow and red cards in one game.

And WTF was up with the bitch fights in the second half?

I think the ref was simply trying to keep control of two very emotional teams. The game started with a very aggressive tackle to the groin area that would have pulled a red card from many refs. USA got a red card for far less.

Portugal got beat up badly in this match and Maniche pulled a red card so we won't see him next game. That means my money will be on England even though they lacked excitement today.

This last match was more for the hockey fans.

|shocking| i have never seen such confusing soccer game like holland/portugal|shocking| i believe the ref gave out 14 yellow cards, i know my son was listen to the game on the radio and a certain moment he came downstairs and said: i cant follow it anymore what is going on there, grin the game was just as confusing as my english writing but they are out of the game now, shit now i have to find a new group to support....okeeeeee i go for aussi

I agree, 20 cards? The ref totally lost the control of the game. That's been the story of this world cup.

Seems a lot has happened over the weekend. I already missed 4 of the 1/8 finals because I was a some music festival .The only thing I heard was a loud "Hurray" when the festival announcer announced holland was going home (the everlasting Belgium vs. Holland soccer cold war ). But 20 cards?? I think that ref has blown his whistle for the last time this tournament.
