Paysites-Affiliates...$$$

Veteran Webmasters...
What is your percentage of revenue from your Paysites compared to your Affiliate derived revenue ie: through affiliate programs and advertizing. I am a new webmaster who wants to build a paysite but also use sponsors to generate revenues.
Thanks for your help,

Chef

You can't build a profitable paysite these days without startup money.

65% of my income comes from my paysites, 20% from my search engine. Of course they occupy most of my time.

Thanks

Thanks Surfn,
I wanted to get an idea so I know how much focus I should put on paysites and sponsors. It is going to cost more money to get my paysite up and running, but I guess I will use a free site forum to help generate revs from sponsors.
Thanks again,
Chef007

I got rid of my pay site along time ago. I'm strictly marketing now and it is one of the best decisions that I have every made.

Paysites are profitable like Surfn said, but they take plenty of work, and time time time.

I am inclined to believe that the right kind of paysite makes money quite easily. Check out ideepthroat.com as an example. They attest to have thousands of members without doing any promotional work, and that's simply because the idea and the content is so hot. Get a paysite like that and I think you've got a great idea. It always helps to have some seed money or other sites to promote it on however.

Thanks Guys

Thank you Cleo and Bob,
That site ideepthroat.com is hot and looks like it would make money, good concept. A site like that would be expensive unless you have a wife/girlffriend who is willing to perform on cam.
I like the marketing idea from Cleo, but I was wondering what Cleo's exact definition of "Marketing" is? I was thinking Hosted galleries and link lists but I am not totally clear.
I would also like to know how to make money from search engines besides just getting a high placing to give your site more traffic.
Sorry for being so wordy,
