Checking for fake PR
Hi all,
This week I read a article about fake pr how it works and how to check it. info:domain.com if the domain comes back its ok if other domain comes up it means its fake because you get redirected. Is this correct? I just checked a couple of trade requests with high PR and none of them returned the same URL. This is one of them. http://amsterdamshortstay.com/ it goes to www.hotels.nl/amsterdam/ What other things do you look for before you trade with a site? Thanks in advance. |

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

info: doesn't tell the whole story, because TBPR gets refreshed every 3 months or so, while a page's cache is updated frequently.
The trick, of course, is to maintain a redirect till TBPR update happens, then disable the redirect and get Google to cache the real page. To mask the redirect, you might use cloaking, so that average users don't notice the redirection. This isn't the best time for him to be asking for link swaps because TBPR is being updated for the next few weeks.

that reminds me of netmaniak.com that time i bought it, it was an expired domain still with an pr4, the time i bought it i didnt know that the old owner asked google to redirect his old domain to the new one, result, a certain moment netmaniak went from an pr4 to a pr7, but you couldnt find the domain in google, well you would find it but when you clicked it you would get a totally different domain ranked pr7, i never understood how a domain owned by an other still can get redirect in google , i have send google 100s of emails about it to get rid of the redirect domain thing, it took them 6 months to do that, after that netmaniak could rank his own pr a pr4 again

Hey Stuveltje
![]() Interesting story. I mailed the person and he said he bought the domain on a forum so he did not know about it. I don't know, the domain works fine only the robot gets redirected. Anyway I removed his links. |
