I've never head of him, but reading that site he sounds like a very cool person. I'll have to look up some of his work.

![]() Several years ago, the wife and I were Ani DiFranco fans and we bought a tape (like I said, several years ago) of Ani DiFranco and Utah Phillips called Past Didn't Go Anywhere, not realizing who Utah was. We assumed he was a vocalist or guitarist. The entire album is basically Ani strumming and humming in the background while Utah tells his life stories. It was an excellent accidental purchase and we listened to it a lot. He was one of those people who could really make you really make you think deeply about your beliefs and sense of reality. He was a true national/universal treasure. |

Thats sad. At least he had a good life and spoke his mind. My wife and I love him and I think he did a lot to remind people that Americans fought and died for things like the 40hr work week and safe labor conditions.
