Talking New User! Hello to Everybody on Greenguy and Jim!

Hey everybody. I'm new to this business, but I've spent some time speaking to a couple guys who have been involved in the past and loved it.

Could anybody point me to a couple resources on how to get started?

I'm a 24 y/o unemployed web developer who needs work, and sees this as a good PT or FT job.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure. I keep researching all the different business opportunities, and I'm not really sure where to go with it.

One thing I can say is that I'm experienced with designing websites, and whenever I take a project on, I'm tenacious. I guess I'm asking for help on how you guys got started, and what the best opportunities are.

I really appreciate the messages, guys, and I hope I haven't interrupted the business board too much.

Welcome tiredandhungove

Just what Surfn said ... you should use a shorter nickname ... this way people can remember you easily.

I guess my foresight wasn't there when I was signing up.

I planned on waking up Saturday tired and hungover, hence the name.

Hello there tiredandhungover! Welcome to these parts. Have you ever done online marketing/sales before? Or just design? Either way, with the designing under your belt you have part of the learning process covered. You can start off building freesites for submiitting to linklists, building galleries for tgps or both. Learning what works for getting the surfer to click and networking with other people is a huge part of the business.
You're in a good place for that.

See ya'

I can't speak for him, but I think surfn was being sarcastic
I know for me, tiredandhungover should be my middle name

Is it possible to start off without putting up much money? Times are pretty tough, but between looking for jobs, I have tons of time to work on this.

Building freesites? Hmmm. Now learning what makes the surfer click seems like quite a challenge.

Any more advice guys? I'm soaking it all up, and I SO appreciate it.

I wasn't being sarcastic...I network with a ton of people with easy to remember names...you need to think before you make decisions. What looks/sounds good today may not be that great in a couple of years...

I don't do serious biz with people that change their nicks every week.

Welcome Welcome Welcome

My normal advice for anyone entering the business would be to turn and run the other way. It is not easy money and the earnings take forever to start rolling. It is 1/8 design and 7/8 marketing. A little luck and some black magic don't hurt either.
