Do you really have any clue what Urb's phpadsnew experience is?... I dont, but it sounds like you should book in for a lesson on that script from him rather than offering them to him.. judging from your posts at least.

This isn't about attacking a program or a person, I understand your statement and it brings to light that method for improving the potential of the program, by editing the used url, for image and click location I will make this change a.s.a.p.

Opti, I don't know you, but why jump on me? I thought Urb handled it well, he/she obviously showed the weakness and showed a valid pic so that I am able to fix it, why are you attacking me as a person/webmaster? Stupidity? I was trying to make a point, not be offensive, I don't understand what your post added to the discussion?

Opti was just pointing out how bad your post actually sounded.

You made me out to be some kind of idiot, implying that I didn't know what I was talking about. I was offering advice which I have researched myself. Not something that I saw someone else post... Whatever I post on these boards is based on my real experience of testing stuff to find holes and problems.

Fix your own site with that problem before trying to give me advice about fixing sites with the same problem that you said you knew about.

Everybody posts things they wish they hadn't now and then, so lets just forget this ever happened.

The reason my post was seemingly agressive is I found your post previously about symantec and no one being worried insulting, it sounded like you were better than everyone, at least to me....I agree we should just let this part of the thread end. Thank you again for pointing that out I do appreciate it, and will see if I have time to change it!

My opinion on getting around ad blockers is that anyone installing an ad blocker is most likely not going to want to click a typical banner, they installed it for a reason, it is the same reasoning with pop ups why try and get around pop up blockers when the people blocking them obviously know enough to not want them, just my opinion.

Symantec is a market leader and thousands of PCs sold every month ship with Norton.

Norton Internet Security has ad blocking enabled as standard. Most surfers are not even aware of ad blocking and are only concerned about their general security.

These surfers will probably never look at, or adjust their Norton settings.

Never knew that it was allowed to be turned on....but that sounds right in the states! It may be something I will have to migrate and alter my installation to adjust, to, mainly I have gone to text and multi format ads lately, but it seems to be good to try and cover this using phpadsnew, will take some time but may be worth it, I will also see if MMM the next evolution of phpadsnew may be working on covering this as well.

Urb thanks for the heads up and the info.

sorry my input was not as useful as yours! You didn't seem so sensitive the other day (root of the issue maybe?). But I'll try and remember to be more careful with you in future now I know ;-)

I couldn't see any useful point in your post either, btw. It sounded like nothing more than a backhanded way of saying "Shutup Urb, You sound like you know shit, Now everyone listen to me say the same irrelevant thing I posted previously again". I actually think my post added more to the discussion than yours.. At the very least mine didn't have any incorrect information in it!

First before anything, I never intended to insult Urb or to demean him/her or his/her posts.

Urb pointed out several mistakes in my posts and I thanked him for the correction.

If you would like to point out these "people" I would appreciate them telling me I am a "know it all" or any of the other names you said in person.

I know enough to get by, to make a good living, and to do it full time, sometimes I post on something that I do know about.

I have used phpadsnew for several years, it has worked very well for me, so when someone asked about ad rotators I posted.

It was my opinion, from what I understood the program was bypassing most ad-blockers by simply changing the name of the script directory and the delivery method in the program settings, Urb showed me that this was not the case, and my site was not showing the picture banners.

As to the name calling that is completely up to you, I don't know you, and have never heard of you, therefore I have no valid opinion on you. So until such time that I do, have a good day and a successful life.
