what's better : xbox or ps2?

The new crystal xbox looks pretty cool. I've got a ps2 and waiting for the ps3 (revealed hopefully next month, available 2005). I'm just wondering if there's any point in getting an xbox. Is it an upgrade or about the same?

I have a PS2 (which I never play anymore)... but I've tried the same games on Xbox and can't really tell the difference.

You should spent the money on a nice video card instead, since PC games are much better.

I have an XBox and love it, it's been a while since I've seen them, but they have a site that compares the PS2 and Xbox on the tech issues and Xbox was a clear winner. You can update the XBox when you are online, and I read they are working on Xbox 2 soon.

Hmmm...sounds like there's not much in it. Not sure if I can stop myself getting that nifty-lookin crystal box, but think I should probably wait for ps3 or xbox 2 since they should be releases fairly soon.

BTW...anyone see that new handheld by sony? I dont think its out yet, but you can say goodbye to gameboy sp. I bought my mom the gameboy advance tribal a few mnonths back and now its already lost a 3rd of its price, probably in anticipation of the sony handheld.

I have had PS2 & Xbox forever, I play the Xbox about 20x more than the PS2, I dont even buy games for PS2 anymore unless they are games that only PS2 has.

One thing about Xbox that I hated was it took forever for them to get a good game mix out, but now they have excellent games coming out constantly.

I love the new Crystal Version...

I had a mate tell me very similar stuff yesterday. He said the halo (think new version) is mind blowing.

I decided to get my daughter the crystal version for Christmas. She'll let her dad have a go and I'm going to wait for either ps3 or xbox 2 next year.

I have both. I like XBOX because you can download games onto it but I still prefer PS2 games. At this point, I dont think I could do without either. Game cube is also pretty damn good.

I have a PS2 and really like it. But as the others said, I don't think there's a big difference between the two. (XBox has a better graphics processor they say but better then very good is still very good

I modded a xbox for a friend of mine, had a new harddrive installed (80gb), built in a chip to play foreign games and all that stuff. also made a new operating system on it.

when i have it here to do something on it, i love it but i'm happy that i don't have one on my own...this thing steals time and it does a really good job on it.

but installing a new harddrive is really great on a xbox, you can store all your games on there and never have to touch a dvd again...

so i would definately go with a xbox if i wouldn't get addicted to it that fast

I have an Xbox and can't recommend it enough. Played on a few PS2s and the Xbox blows it away in terms of performance.

Best gaming experience - Connecting it to a receiver with a digital AV cable and playing Halo in 5.1 surround. Glorious!

(only 3 weeks until Halo 2 hits British shores... I just know I'm not gonna get any work done in November!!)

My hubby just surprised me with fable and it's fun so far. I like the adventure type games.. loved Halo too. My son and I played it 2 player all the way to the end
