Need help on usability testing my site...

Hello everyone,

My name is Allen, I'm new to this board, and I just put up a test version of my website. I need help on some usability testing before I even worry about building any traffic.

Would any of you be willing to check out my site and tell me what you think? I'm currently working on several different versions of the sales copy for each of the main pages (4 in all). If you think something just sounds wrong, or if you notice something you would change...

...please tell me what you don't like, or what you feel needs changed.

Please understand that my goal here is NOT to get you guys to go buy my product. ALL I want is your opinion of this test version of the site. My goal is to iron out all the bugs BEFORE I start building traffic.

I just need feedback on things like...

* look and feel of the site
* sales copy--Does it keep your interest or is it too long-winded?
* do you understand what the site is offering?
* does the affiliate program page make sense?
* how's the free e-zine page look to you?
* or any other advice you wanna throw my way.

Any feedback you guys can provide would be GREATLY appreciated.

I had started to write up a big thing about this & that & what I thought about a few of the comments, but then it dawned on me....

You're going to be competing with this board!

Most of the stuff that you want people to pay your for, we give away here on the board for free...and people get various opinions instead of just one.

Maybe I'll cough up the $20 & pick thru it on the radio show next week

Honestly, the graphics are so poor that I wouldn't look more than 1 or 2 seconds before I left.

Let me give YOU a secret. You sell more stuff to webmasters with a prettier site. We are the picky people, many of us do our own graphics, and we know what we like.

I looked at your site (briefly) and I saw a fairly plain site, poor quality pixilated graphics, and a sales pitch that sounds more like a late night infomercial than anything I would really want to know.

Basically, if you know so much about selling to surfers, why not just build more websites and sell to them? You can get $35 per sale from an endless number of surfers, or $20 from maybe a couple of hundreds webmasters.

Those who can do, those who can't teach, I suspect that is the situation here.

Learn to sell to webmasters, and then you might have a chance of telling us how you sell to surfers.

(sorry if this is direct, but my feelings on this site are pretty much "snakeoil"... but that is just me!)

I applaud your attempt to spam the board for one thing when we both know what your really fishing for is sales
Your Technic has improved some over your attempt on YNOT where you asked for advice on marketing your site
(A Webmaster "how to" site asking "how to" just makes one wonder if their is any value to your product)
I have given allot of thought lately to spaming forums, groups and chat rooms just like your doing (asking for one thing when what I really want is sales)

If it's done to the right nitch and in a little less transparent manor I think it can be an effective way to make new sales.
I would never attempt to use this form of marketing on a professional webmaster board though (don't you think between all the webmasters here someone has seen it or done it before)
I was thinking more of on the lines of targeting Tijuana forums and chat rooms with the following spam

"Tijuana Girls New Tijuana Web Site Wants Your Tijuana Girl Nest Door And Sexy Tijuana Girl Photos Win Cash"

I won't turn down any girls, but what I will really be hoping for is to perk the male surfers curiosity and ingrained need to chase pussy
