Max raises an important point. In our sponsor program, we looked at offering a pay-per-click program in addition to revshare and pay-per-sale. We decided not to offer pay-per-click once we understood how it was being used. It's a damn good way to get a lot more affiliates to sign up for a program. But it's not really a good way for affiliates to make money.*
Simon * It used to be a good way for affiliates to make money, but I'm talking about today, in 2006, where the PPC terms in the standard TOS changes the deal significantly (to better protect the sponsor).
