Hosting question

First of all, Iīm not a tech guy, so it may be a stupid question. Iīm running some paid gallery spots. Some galleries are on a virtual dreamhost account, which didnīt cause any problems so far.

I used one of my servers for two galleries this month and the box melt down. Iīve got 15 mbps per month and didnīt use half of it, but the server couldnīt handle the traffic, which leads to my question:

Whatīs the reason if a dedicated server canīt handle gallery spots?

The hosting company recommended load balancing. But if I would use the suggested solution, it would hurt the ROI of the spots.|confused|
