Well, my start in the biz was a bit different, or maybe not, back in '96 I had just sold a deli business and was sitting around my apartment when the adult bookstore owners across the street from my fathers hobby shop asked what I was doing. When my dad told them nothing, they asked to speak with me and offered me a managers job (more like all around everything job) I said what the hell as the pay was great for what I was doing. From that position, I was able to get into some very high places in the sex sellers biz. I have been to the the factory of Nass-Toys in NYC and sat at a 20 seat conference table with 1000 different dildos and toys hanging on the wall with women demonstrating their uses and in that same factory Id watch Fetish videos being shot. It was all a trip. That being said, its much more of a "hassle" to hide the fact that you run an adult shop than anything I do online. Friends thought it was great cause I always had the latest videos and I became an in house cockbuster rental agency without late fees or charges. My mom was fine with it, and thats all that mattered to me. It was good $$ and she knew I was doing it as a biz.
After the shop sold (that was why I was hired, to bring up profits) I delved into online porn, but I also did non adult web design, so I had the out .." I do web design" and when theyd ask to see my sites I just sent them to my non adult site for my portfolio. I have friends that know I do it, and anyone who I care to tell. but because of my history with the shop, its old hat, and everyone knows that I know porn.
My close family knows, others know I Design web sites. I mean it is what it is and there is $$ to be made, and if people didnt want it we all wouldnt have a job, so its gotta be OK.
