I know now why apache never fixed this security issue and decided to look the other way. Three attempts to fix it all result in some strange corner-case where it doesn't behave exactly the way it should. Had an epiphany last night which fixes the issue, follows the RFC standards, but, has an undesired side-effect.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday. Hope you find your fingernails Jim. I would have thought the Mohawk Mafia would have..... scalped perhaps?
