Don't forget the standard reply #1:
"Everyone else of the big guys has listed my site" - yet when you check it, none have listed it.

I still send replies though and will continue to do it. I think it's a good way to get more personal with submitters and if there's just minor mistakes, I say it in the mail and accept the site.
