looking for more detailed info

I was wondering if anyone had a one stop shop for info on SEO and definitions. I have found many pages that tend to focus on the hows and whys, etc. But nothing that gives simple explinations for things such as backlinks. To give you an idea i was under the impression that backlinks were something related to clicking a link inside a site and then clicking another link that would take you back to, say the home page. I just found out tonight I was totaly wrong. MadMAx put this up a few weeks ago and it helps me out so much. http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...ad.php?t=18900
I was just wondering if anyone knew of a place that had a list more geared toward linking, keywords, metatags. etc. Thanks Jugg.
