There's a documentary shown on one of the Discovery channels every now and then called "Gadgetmania".

It starts out with the "board walk hawkers" of the days before television, then centers in on K-Tel, Ron Popeil, Ginzu Knife, etc, up to informercials and Ron's rotisserie machine.

I use to laugh at those guys. Then I found out how much money they made. Any of us here would die to have 1/100th of what they make.

Point is, they use those words. They did in the 40s on the boardwalks; they do now; and they still work.

Popeil's "set it and forget it" phrase is just a 21st century way of saying "easy". He's sold over 10 million of those rotisseries so far. Imagine if he only netted a single dollar off of each sale! And I'm sure it's a lot more than that he's pocketed.
