What would you do with teenfan.com?

I've been given the opportunity to revamp teenfan.com by a friend of mine and help it generate money (50% of the profits going into my pocket). Back in the day he used to make some decent money with it, but now it's just dead.

So, what would be the best route to take with it? What he's going for now is the completely opposite direction of where he should be going if he wants to make money with the site. That's just my humble opinion of course.
