I'm driving down from Seattle with Betty Boob and maybe one of the other Th.com girls. Several are coming from Cali, AZ and we have 3 that live in vegas so we are all getting together to do a content photo shoots at my cousin's club on the 5th, in the morning. I'm booked solid on the 6th but you are welcome to hang with us if you'd like and it will be great to meet you too!
I know that Harrah's has rooms, Stardust has rooms, Rio has rooms and if you want to see more local vegas, downtown is a very good place to go for a night or 2 and the rooms are very reasonable, as chop said. Off the strip hotels are good value too like the Orleans, Gold Coast etc.
I have AT&T national plan but if this is just a one time shot, maybe like GG said, get a throwaway and phone card. in the long run it might be cheaper.
If you plan on networking quite a bit i'd say at least 500 cards.
another good thing to do is contact people you are really interested in meeting with and try to pre-arrange either at their booth or for a drink.. if it's just to chit chat, don't but if you have serious business to do with them, pre-arranged meetings are really good as schedules book up and you could be at their booth and they have zero time to yak with you.
and if you've never been to vegas, if you at a bar, buy a roll of quarters or dollars and the drinks are free if they have table tops. All grocery stores, gas stations, etc have slots too, one of the things i was amazed at when i 1st moved to vegas.
you can always go to your local Kinkos and download your pics and i think there is going to be a computer lounge or something you might be able to use if GG's isn't available, and we'll have at least 1 if not 2 laptops and cam set ups with us as well.
