Banning IPs

Newbie question here....

I'm looking to ban IP numbers from certain countries for my website. Not too many countries mind you, but I do want to simply ban the entire place when I do. I'm using aMember which has a ban function, but it's for individual numbers and I have yet to find an index with upper-level domain numbers.

I've seen some point and click software which does this based on huge numbers of allotments, and all you have to do is click "Absurdistan" or "Republique du Merde" and it will ban access from everyone in the IP ranges from those countries (or at least everyone which the software recognizes). The software I've seen looks kind of dodgy though.

Is there software which anyone knows of/uses and can recommend?
