Another thing to consider is why are we in this biz? To make money. Who knows better than a sponsor what sells their stuff. So if you are sending traffic to sites they make your chances of doing well should improve.

I beg to differ. I've seen sponsors' sites that couldn't sell a roasted turkey to a starving man on Thanksgiving day. Yes, most sponsors know what works for them and their sites, but there are still sponsors out there who flunked marketing 101 and started a webmaster program instead. But yes, you're right, at least in theory.
