Well, no Chili cookoff this weekend. The Red Cross who puts the contest on found out yesterday that the local VFW lost it's liquor license. And, I guess, some of the restaurants and even a couple amateurs also have their micro-breweries judged. Since they can't do the damn homemade beer, the best won't be there. So, they are still having a small contest today but the big contest has been rescheduled. It sucks but my children are happy. They all have a lot of chili to take home. We may still go but not to compete.

The only thing the winner gets is a trophy and does not move on to the next stage. You would think that the VFW might have mentioned the liquor license before yesterday but...so it goes.
