Logic behind not having price on join page?

I have been trying to figure out what the logic behind not having a price on the join page could be? It seems to me that would dramatically decrease signups. Who wants to select an access option (ie. 3 day trial, 15 day trial, 30 days full, 90 days full etc..) without knowing the price of it?

I now see that if you select an access option (with no price listed) then click submit and go to the processor page, you will see the price. I wonder how many surfers stop right there on join page because of not having a price clearly listed?

I put my self in the surfers shoes, and I myself would stop on the join page and find another site that clearly tells me how much I will be charged and for what.

Anyone have opinions or thoughts on this and what you think it does for a ratio?
