Real Player help wanted

Last week I updated my real player to version 11. Now movie clips will only open in the browser page rather than the standard real player.

This is what I see when i click a link to a movie clip.

I can play the link by clicking run but this is driving me nuts and when the clip has finished, I can click back to return to the original page

I have uninstalled real player and gone back to version 10 but the damage is done. Any links I view online that normally open in real player now open in my browser pane.

I know I could delete real player and use windows to play these clips but I like things the way they were.

I did a little reading and know that real player can run embedded objects, which may be a clue to fixing this but any help anyone can give me would be appreciated.

At the moment this is bugging the hell out of me and I'm ready to take a sledge hammer to the pc
