I put the same thread up at XBIZ and thought I would post it here too:

Lots of times I am in discussions with clients or potential clients and many times the subject comes up, do I know anyone with a solid programming background that could help create my affiliates page or help me create __________?

At the moment I have one guy who is filled to the max with work so I have no one to refer my clients to. What I would like is to get acquainted with some of you and to be able to share your contact details with said client. The majority of my clients are EU/US. So they should speak a sufficient amount of English so that you can understand them, but you may need patience as some like to write in Google translate, but for the most part they are easy going.

Then I thought why not take this idea a step further and create a group with say 1 hosting provider, 1 programmer - who has time! , someone in advertising - graphics, affiliates, content provider, etc. This way we can create a lead pool for all to share. I know some of us really put in a ton of effort in trying to establish new business by building relationships when in a lot of cases referrals equal free money - usually. Of course some may require some additional time, pampering, and who knows what else. But it is a hell of a lot easier to contact a warm lead and close business then it is to cold call. Obviously this is not going to eliminate "the hunt", but it does help with some lower hanging fruit.
