How do you get more submissions (w/o attracting cheaters)???

I could really do with more submissions to my site!

I still believe in the long run it'll be better for my sites to not only list sponsor hosted galleries like so many sites are doing! But I also don't want to open my submit to autosubmitters and the 'general public' - I had far too much trouble with that last year, and wasted hours identifing (before galleries were changed) and blacklisting cheaters [there's still a long thread about it here on the board].
But currently I spend too much time adding more interesting links to my site, where I could spend the time more efficiently working my trades and finding new ones - make the site grow faster...

I'm currently somewhere between 3 and 4k uniques/day (= small by most standards, but not anymore minute like 1,000s of other TGPs), and I had the site last year at around 12k (+growing) when I had to shut it suddenly for family reasons...

So if you're doing galleries or know reliable submitters - please direct them to my site or send me an email : george| at | tropicheat| dot |com !

Well, if things won't change soon there are 1,000s of sponsor hosted galleries to be added (just that I don't like the thought of it).

hey george

go to some good tgp's that list nice galleries and look around for good galleries. then list those on your site at the top of the list (right under my galleries) if you use thumbs make some very nice thumbs and make sure you send as many hits to those galleries as you can.

half the tgp's on my submit list just showed up in my stats. i never submitted to them. but after seeing them in my stats i added them to my list.

if you keep doing that long enough you will get some good submitters.

I used to do that from time to time, now I have a bulk of sites bookmarked which are clean, and where you can find the next directory for a new gallery (once you've deciphered their naming structure) - but honestly: 300-700 hits from me seem to get lost among the traffic from the big guys! I can name you some 8 or 9 sites where I sent repeat traffic day after day - none of them has come back for a pwd!
I also sent out some emails to webmasters - none of them has come back for a pwd!
On the other hand: some TGPs in my submit list are the ones who re-listed my gallery from a submission to another site...

Not even many of my pwd submitters are submitting, although I know my traffic is not too bad - judging by the sign-ups I get from it! If all my 200+ pwd submitters would submit I'd have no problem; as it stand I'm lucky if I get 30+ submissions, on Sundays 20+

Sorry - that's the same as with any LinkLists: you should have read the rulz first:

I have my minimum set at five pics. (I accept TGP2 gals for the hell of it) But five is also the number of unique surfers who would see your galleries at my TGPs.
