Anyone know what this actually means in plain English?

Morning folks, long time no post I hope everyone is doing well. Here's the update on this morning.

There was a packet storm created by a breakdown in the spanning tree algorithm in our Ethernet switches. We are
monitoring the network closely to determine if this was a result of
malicious activity, or just an abnormal occurrence.

Sorry for the in inconvenience we have enabled more warning alarms to let us know if this happens in the future and to help us track down the causes.
