phpadsnew

Hello everyone, hoping I can get some help here. Appologies for starting a new thread on it, as i also have it in my previous post "php help".

On that famous post of Cleo's. a quote...
Quote:
"About the only thing I don't like about my system is that if I get a banner that is appropriate for more then one niche I have to duplicate it and move it into that niche. Not a big deal, but more work later on if I decide to edit or pull that ad since there will be more then one copy."

Now hopefully cleo will reply to this. What if I have added 2 different banners to the campaign of the same site. So what I want to do is send one banner to one niche and the second banner of the same site to a different niche. I cant seem to find the way to link them seperatley. Is this possible?

I could be doing this wrong but I find when I link a campaign to a zone and I have 2 banners in that campaign, it links both banners unless I deactivate the one I dont want to show, but if you want one of those banners in another zone you have to reactivate, therefore showing up in the zone you dont want it to.

Any help is greatly apppreciated

I'm ready to pull every hair on my head out over this..

Zones seem tricky no matter which rotator you use. We use phpadsnew here but I just figured out how to read the stats a few weeks ago

I'm sure when Sparky get's back he will be able to help you out.

Well gag me with a spoon!! I figured out my problem!! Some damnedstupid little check box was unchecked!! Sheesh!!

As far as zones go, I link banners directly to zones, not campaigns and it works for me. But I am still stubbornly using version 1.7 on this particular domain cause I have no desire to mess my stuff up upgrading athat install at this time.

You have to create 2 different zones and 2 different campaings for the thing you want.
Ad banner 1 to campaign 1 and link it to zone 1.
Ad banner 2 to campaign 2 and link it to zone 2.

That's the only way I know how to do it in phpAdsNew

Amber, how do you link a banner straight to a zone? I thought only entire campaigns could get linked to a zone.

yes you can link banners straight to the zone. I figured it out a while after I posted the problem, didnt have time to post the solution! But Amber is right, Select banners from the drop down list and not campaigns and voila!! Select whatever banner from the campaign you want in the zone.

Using the keywords function is pretty powerful, but you've got to get into the documentation and read it thoroughly (a couple times ) to figure it out. I'm going to be revamping all my advertising and I'll be using keyword targeting for all of it

Yeah, it's all about the order that you enter the keywords when creating the ad. It makes sense, but I had to try 3 times before I actually got my head around the concept. Now we'll see if I can make it work
