"New Domains For Sex Sites Could Foster Greater Legitimacy" This article goes on with a lot of very dubious arguments in support of .xxx Also has this corker of a paragraph: Another advantage for industry participants and customers would be better data-collection practices. "Right now, if you go to a porn site, they sell your name to anybody and everybody," she says. "That's how they make their money. It's a huge part of their business model. But building privacy and security into .XXX sites will play a large part in regularizing that industry."

Trying is the first step towards failure

As I said in another thread on this board, this whole idea is utterly ridiculous. Here's a quick newsflash:
The United States Government DOES NOT HAVE the power to police the Internet beyond its own borders! Until some governmental genius (can you say "oxymoron"?) comes forward and explains how in the blue fuck they intend to master world-wide compliance, I am not interesting in paying $60 a year for anything they suggest. These idiots can't see outside the box... stifle US webmasters, and you're opening a varitable Pandora's Box of porn that even we WMs deem unacceptable from all the countries we've been trying to lock out! Okay I'm ranting here... this has been a shit day all the way around and I guess I needed an outlet. Sorry if I offended anyone... not my intention at all. ![]()
