you're the pros...how would you promote this new site?

kinda reminds me of the starts of cons Junction - but they started with editorials as well which provided loads of content/stories and then added in the advertising on a much smaller scale - until they had the traffic to support the ads - starting out you might want to cut back on the ads (just my opinion)

As far as traffic - if you add in some good political content, articles etc, then I would go the trading links, and submitting to directories like DMOZ, etc. If you get enough articles up some blogs will probably trade links as well.

yeah had considered the article/blog thing..
will be setting that up soon, and 'cleaning up' the advertising as well, so that i can get some good link trades to start
