how would you act if you hired someone to help you and ..

Hello,

over 10 days ago i've posted message about looking for someone to write descriptions for me..

here it is:
http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...ad.php?t=20215

the very next day i've had some girl contacted me ..

Jennifer "Panky" from
http://www.icando4u.com

we had a deal discussed everything that she will do everything in 1-2 days max
so by 2nd june max i should have it..

i've been trying to contact her every day without any luck.

on 6th june she had sent me message she had probs with connection etc..

on 7th june she told me i'd get my descriptions on 8th june ;(

guess what im not getting it on 8th june

i keep sending her messages.. no response..

today, 9th june i've decided to drop her .. since i've sent her a lot of warnings and no response again..

now im talking to another guy who wants to help me with my task and guess what she is sending me message (from offline icq status)

"I'll sent the email the other night to you. I'll send it again and also upload it and give you the url so that you have the work."

im sending her message back that im talking to another guy about my task already and if she wants to get any payment from me she needs to send me mail with job done asap.. guess what - she doesnt answer me again.

im so pissed...

what would you do if you were me ?

thanks,
Mike

I had an issue like this with a programmer. He stated he had a ton of exp. But when it came time for him to log on my box and work with the sql he was not able to even thou I assigned him the permissions. Then he was constantly asking me for the mysql access and I was freaking as I don't run that. Anyway we had a few more issues and he had a time frame. This is how i handled it.
1) after the time frame was not met I let him know he failed the project but was willing to work with him a little longer. No more then 24 hours
2) after the 24 hours I removed all his access from the box
3) I informed him the project was over and he was not being paid due to his not completing it
4) he complained about access issues and I informed him and proved to him he had all the access he needed and i no longer had faith in his skills as his questions for access pertained to nothing we were working on
5) I blocked him from any messenger list i had as he was constantly trying to get me to remove the bad review from the site i got him from.
6) I moved on to an english speaking person whom i could call and talk with over the phone during normal business hours, talking to india at 4am was just a total drag. having messenger sounds blast to wake you up for any project issues sucks.

I would just tell her she did not meet the deadline and you are sorry but that was the requirement and she accepted the job under those conditions. Explain you are running a business and her not having a connection or back up connection and doing business online is unprofessional to the point where it messed up your business. Explain to her you will keep her on that list no one has, to contact back bad workers. Jugg..

The email addy I have for you, that you supplied, has bounced twice now. I've ICQ'd you and gave you the zip file where you could receive your text. I've also sent the same zip file to the new address you provided in your ICQ which I received this evening. If you check your ICQ and email, you will see that all your text is there waiting for you to retrieve it.

Jakudza, I don't think you grasp the situation here. Stop wasting your time and move on. If you someone offers to do a job and has connections issues then it's thier responsibility to contact you and let you know that they're not going to deliver.

You're an adult. You hired an adult. Now you should both act like adults.

Situations like this are truly a pain. Communication issues are the hardest thing to overcome in business. But thats my opinon. Anyway I would recommend to people that they place up a folder in their FTP with restricted access to fix email issues or file transfer issues over messenger software. It's been my experience that email attachements have size limits and so do messenger software. FTP could fix allot of problems like this. I believe both of you are trying to truly resolve this issue. In the amount of time that has passed it prob could have been made into html and posted to a website for copy and paste or worse yet just plain old snail mail. Hope you two work this out..

Panky's always professional, obviously there was some communication issues here. I would have no hesitation hiring Panky to do work for me. Hopefully both parties can work this out.

im sure she was good for you.. maybe its me so un-lucky.

she did sent all her job done and i've payed her.. but now i checked it again and mentioned that she forgot to follow one of my requirements.. i've sent her message yesterday and she doesnt respond again..

also she is always offline to me .. i never saw her online in icq.. she could add her clients to a visible list..

#1. You are visible to me on ICQ.

#2. If you do not reach me on ICQ, you can use the 2 phone numbers I supplied you along with my email address that you have to reach me instead of insinuating on a msg. board that I am ignoring you.

ICQ can at times be unreliable, as we all know by know but I believe the point Mike is trying to make is that you gave a delivery date and didnt deliver, then another and didnt deliver. I am not taking sides but simply saying that business deals should not be finalized over ICQ.

Come on guys, just work it out and lets all get along... thats what I love about GG&J.. its my happy place |love|

I have no problems making the changes that need to be made. I am also not on ICQ 24/7. It is the weekend. I will not be on ICQ until Monday morning. ICQ is not the only way to reach someone. Obviously, if I have not been online on ICQ, send an email or use the phone, instead of posting on a msg. board insinuating that I'm ignoring you because I haven't responded to ICQ. This is why I give my clients all my contact information so that if I am not on ICQ, especially on the weekends, they can still reach me if needed.

Things like this happen constantly in the online world, regardless if it's a communication issue or simply someone not wanting to do the work or not being able to do the work by the specified time.

Im sure that Panky (not that I know her), wasnt intentionally trying to screw you, although it might feel like it somtimes.

Level heads always prevail, and sometimes things like this turn out excellent with a great business relationship long term, but it takes patience and trust.
