Partnership or Per Signup?

I do a mixture, but I only choose partnership if I convinced that they have a really good member's area that is constantly updated.

I used to only do partnerships.. but have drifted back to PS....

..but given the changes of the last few months... partnerships are back as a priority for me.

Partnership is nice, but with all the processors going under lately it's kinda nice to take the money up front and run.

Plus, you never know when the program owner is going to "find God".

I forgoet how much of it was a lie & how much was truth (because Jim;s partner told everyone one thing but I knew the other side) - anyhow - http://www.greenguysboard.com/ultracash.html - the public reason for the closing of Jim's program was that his partner "found god" (the day after he stuck it in Jim's ass as I believe)

A mix of both is a great thing.

High converting programs like the ones Extreme cash offers are great because you know you'll get the signups, and that you're guranteed a certain amount.

Partnerships are also a great pick me up in those slow months, such as the ones coming to an end.

Ideally, a program that offers either option is the one I'll lean towards!

Although my favorite is a deal I struck for a combination affiliation, $20 on sign up plus 25% recur - its for a very specific niche and updates/CS etc are handled well. HOOYAH and CHA-CHING!!!

Man I wish more sponsors would consider these sort of payment options *nudge nudge* hehehe

Oh my gawd what a nightmare!
WOW, this is all news to me, I had no idea you were involved with Ultracash.
I was a newbie back in 97 and if memory serves Ultracash was my very first sponsor program. I loved it and never once had to worry about being paid. After all these years I find out you were the man behind the scenes.

This is going to sound like a stupid question but didn't I recieve an email upon discontinuation of that program stating that the owner could no longer stomach what was happening to the female models and he actually appologized to them, and went so far as to ask forgiveness in that email?? I might be getting it mixed up with UltraDokk or Ultrateen but in my hazy old brain I remember them being all under the same umbrella.

I do remember one thing, it was definately the hardest hardcore program I promoted at the time.
This just goes to show that there is always another side to the story.

Anyway - I just wanted to say that you are one stand up guy and you just found a new groupie!

The best way,for the typical webmaster, to avoid the so-called "summer slowdown" is with a good recurring sponsor or two.

I like recurring but if a program has both options I now take per signup. I know I can sell so I don't have to worry about whether the site can complete the sale on the inside.

Recurring I do like as mentioned but only take it if that's the only option.

thats a great way of looking at it, or some people just save up some of the money they make during the year on Per Signup to cover the slow months.

A mix is always good to make up for thoose slow days or weeks so the recurs will still be bringing in money.

I say more so than the money you get when you promote a site know and understand the site you promoting. Because there is nothing more that can effect a sale than understanding what exactly the surfer is needing and wanting.
