I got it but it didn't really bother me, the thing that surprised me was that they didn't dedupe their list and remove exisiting webmasters from it. Inviting me to join a program I'm already promoting seems a bit pointless.

I'm curious what people are defining as spam- stuff that you're sent after signing up for an affiliate program or board? I send an email to affiliates of my site every few months to remind them I exist and let them know I have new free content, is that spamming according to the folk here?

The reason I thought it was spam was I get the same opening line 20 or 30 times a day and this was the first time I've ever seen a business email used that approach and it also came to an email address that I don't give to sposnors so I knew I never signed up to one of their programs. Had they identified themselves as owners of Porn City or used a more common appraoch in announcements I never would have thought it was spam. On the other hand maybe I should know them. I like getting announcements and communications from business partners. Just don't use the same lines as spammers and you should be OK. |
