Yesterday I watched Webinator, that it is the script that you told me, but it is very complex and very expensive.

I download "Site Organizer" some months ago, but I do not like the free scripts that take a % of your traffic.

The only soft that I found that can to import your own galleries are the TGP scripts of JMBsoft. I buyed TGProtator and is excellent. But now I try to have an directory not a TGP. May be, I will discover how to do it with TGProtator...

Thank you for your replies. Bye.

well webinator can be free if you want to try out the 10,000 page limit. And the forums are answered with intelligent answers. But you know your own install and adjusting skills for scripts better than I do, so I can understand where you might be intimidated by trying the install yourself.

But I personally think you might want to try the free version of webinator. Maybe you can look at their online documentation and whatever question/topic is still unclear to you, you can then look up that topic in their users forum. You might find your questions might already be answered by the webmasters that tried it before you.

I own the JB script too. I am happy with it.

You're welcome to ask me any questions in the future. Its been a year or two since I worked with webinator, but if I can answer the questions, I'll reply back.

Hi H

I've got a couple of TGPs running on Site Organizer, I'm not utilizing it 100%, but maybe able to help. What problems are you having?

what problems am I NOT having?
I think if I could get a hold of a working template or two, that would go a long way in understanding the vague documentation.

I actually finally got a simple template from the guy but then when I tried to save it - I got some errors. Then when I went back to edit it - while it was 'still there in the list of 1 template' THERE WAS NO CODE to see or touch for editing?!?!

At that point I gave up.
If you got working termplates what you wouldnt mind sharing one or two, and hopefully you know how to edit them once they are entered..........well I suppose I can go back to trying it again.

I've contacted Kaktus a few times about the script... he works hard but I feel he's given up on SO in favour of his other scripts.
I wanted it to be XHTML compliant and also have the option of naming my own styles... I might end up doing my own templating system in the near future, but hey, it's free, so I'll put up with it for now...

Have a look at http://tgp.fthq.com/ and http://tgp.ukmast.com/

They are two of my SO TGPs...
Each layout is essentially the same, running from the same template.
I use a lot of PHP inserts... even the CSS is a php file to change the site colors depending on the domain... and mod_rewrite (to appeal more to the SEs), but if you want; PM me your address and I'll send you one of my first templates, so you can see how I use it.

hey guestcam,

what errors you got when you added the sample template i gave you. I suppose you got errors if you just copy & pasted it, because your niches are different, so all you need is to change your niche names and probably the exact gallery types you already imported in the script. Also where you can't see to edit the code of the template you entered? If you once added and saved your code for the template, you can any time go and edit it through the admin panel.

Let me know if you need more info..

hey oast, nothing is given up on SO! New version is almost done and there will be lots more things in it. There is lots more to be done in SO, but i can't do it all at once, hope you understand me...so just time is needed till everyone's suggestions are added, since its not that easy to put things in such a big script already..everything needs careful test and time for that..

Hey Kaktusan
I did say you work hard! I know that from visiting your site regularly
I said what I said, because it appears (to me) that you were putting more into your new Blogs Organizer than in to SO. I apologise for making the assumption if that is not the case.

guestcam... I'll be answering your PM soon. Have a few things to sort out here, then will get on to it... may be as late as the morning (GMT time)

Correct, that is where and how my first errors occurred. I recognized this and first changes I made were to correct niche names. But for one last niche this error would not go away. I was SURE I had the spelling correct but still that last error would not go away.

I left that portion of the control panel, by selecting niche management. This was to confirm I had my niche name spelled correctly. I DID HAVE it correct.

So I went back to the templates section, picked quick edit (because there IS no edit choice) and didnt see my template there. Then I picked SEARCH templates, found my template and the place where you can edit it, clicked EDIT and the edit page comes up with a completely blank textbox where the templates code should appear.

I have asked you. Sometimes I have asked two times in a row. Once, I have asked 3 times in a row.

And Then you answer, or more accurately stated, then you reply. I dont want to bust your balls and keep emailing when theres no reply. Pissing off the one guy who can help aint a smart thing to do.

So I had to look elsewhere. Or I should say I FELT like I had to look else where.

theres no current participation in your users forums so I cant go there for help or assistance from fellow SO users.

So thats why I can here to post For answers.

well guestcam when your template has errors it isn't saved in the database, so when you left that screen to go to the niches list screen, you loose your info, since it isn't saved. SO accepts only okay content.

About the niche name that isn't accepted is probably wrong mispelled, but since you say you are sure it is correct one, makes me think you used some special characters in your niche name. Avoid using special characters in the niche names. Let me know how it goes on this problem or if again problems, give me direct login to your script so i can lookup manually the problem.

About the help you requested, you mailed me couple of times and i replied you on all emails..i don't remember not replying you as i never skipped an email from my customers asking for help..you aren't pissing me..why do you think so..

Actually that is only HALF true and hence the problem. Well additional probelm. IMHO as a programmer the entire record of this new template should not appear, rather than the record remains with everything I put into it EXCEPT THAT the code of the template box is blank.

And the other, more persistent problem, is that this information should have been in your forum, at least. And probably in the FAQ, the documentation and the forum. All three places.

I was sure I had the spelling correct. And I was right, I had the spelling correct. What I did not have correct was the CASE of the niche phrase. And once again, something like Niche names are case sensitive should be in the faq, the forum and the documentation.

It was the lengthening of time between sending and seeing a reply. Now I understand that you and I are 10 or 12 time zones apart. I am expecting a day delay on hearing back from you, depending on what time of day I email you. But it APPEARED to me that as I asked more questions on details not covered any where on your websites, the reply time grew longer.

The question of my asking for an example of a template; I mentioned twice in two previous emails that had other topics as their subjects. Finally I sent an email only about the topic of please may I have just one working template. And that was the one you sent me a reply with a template.

About Documention:
I have been written application programs for many many years. (I wish I was good enough with perl or other cgi) And As a programmer, I know that writing documentation and users how to's and FAQs arent any fun at all. I would rather be writing more code. Most programmers are like that.

Having said that, I also think that as a person selling software you have to do this documentation. And you should have been adding to the faqs and forums as time went on, even by the lazy mans way. Which is the way I would choose to do it.

COPY and paste every emailed question you have ever gotten on the SO (and the BO too) all into one page. Then sort these topics - do a little bit of editing and BAM - you have your faq or forum even.
And as each new customer askes something you havent answered before, you can cut and paste that email into the forum.

If you take that method of keeping documention and answers for the users, you'll make not only more sales down the road but also each additional customer will be easier to handle than the previous one.

Well thats in my honest opinion.........
