On the mainland that is true! NO DOUBT that is true. I certainly see enough fat tourists and stupid party animals here like that here too but....
The Hawaiian shirt replaces the suit and tie over here for a business man. (its so stupid) Instead of a suit jacket, people wear Hawaiian shirts and slacks.

But, its not until you meet the coolest, most laid back dude you have ever seen, kicking back on the beach, playing a ukulele, smoking a fatty, in a Hawaiian shirt that you can understand how it could be cool. Something about a hip guy wearing a flowered shirt, it's a Hawaii thing I guess.

That being said, I have had some pretty god success doign free or avs sites focused on a specific performer and then using that to upsell to my paysites.
