I actually quit trying to figure out what's going on, on the island about 1/3 of the way through this season, because I got the feeling that they didn't quite know yet.

Part of that deal was figuring out the end to the series.

The above leads me to believe that I was right. So now, I'm just waiting to see what they decide.
