Alexa?
I have heard that Alexa isn't too accurate. I have noticed recently that the traffic on one of my sites, has not really changed but my Alexa ranking has gone down, and down. What’s strange also is I have set more back links recently. On my other site the same thing the traffic #'s have stayed the same, and the ranking is going up, and up. Now I know Alexa ranking really doesn't matter so I don't care that much but at the same time I am wondering why?

From what I understand your Alexa rating is determined from those who visit your website with the Alexa toolbar installed.... so basically it's a guestimate at best with lots of leeway.

O Wow. I knew it was figured some kind of way, but alexa toolbar. That leaves out like 95% of the surfers out there. Mostly webmasters have that installed don't they? I installed Alexa about a yr ago and all was fine until I uninstalled it, then my computer went to shit for about a week.
Thanks for the info. |
