After surfing the site a little, I got the same ad, with a "skip this ad" link at the top, which brought me back to the page I was going to. I've seen this before, can't remember what they call them. Like check out the ads then click to get to your correct page.

The header image took some time to load, must be pretty big, file size.

Those are intersital ads like someone mentioned above. They are from Adbrite and I don't have control over what ads in the Adbrite network are displayed. I'll look into it though and see what add your talking about pops up.
